Christine is married to Martin. 

                           She is Dorothy's house cleaner. 

Jason thought his life was over. He became homeless and turned to drugs to cope with it. 

Christine and Martin have compassion for Jason. 

Martin tries to reach Jason by meeting his physical need of hunger. 

Rudy is Jason's first encounter with someone who cares about him. Rudy encourages him that there is help available when he's ready to receive it.
