Thoughts From My Kitchen Table

Random thoughts that come to my mind, plus updates of my endeavors.

new cleaning system at work, lent service tonight, youTube videos

We've started a new cleaning system at work. New products plus new cleaning schedule. It's been a tiring process getting accustomed to it, but I will eventually.  Tonight is Lent service at church.  Before I go to the gym, I hope to continue organizing since we moved a whole bunch of furniture pieces around. The cabinet that was in the foyer is now in the den. The hope chest that was in the den is now in my office. The whicker shelf that was in the sunroom is now in the green screen room. The dresser that was in my office will soon be in our bedroom after we paint it. I'm looking forward to using my hope chest properly. It will hold most of the items that were in the dresser.  I have discovered a feature on YouTube that is going to save so much time! I can make YouTube shorts out of my long videos easily by using the remix button. My Bible videos have been doing great lately! I even gained subs from the Bible video and cheerleading videos. Fantastic! Praise the Lord!...

bedbugs update, eye doctor

There was a load of laundry that we did a while ago and we put it in a big cardboard box that we kept in the den. Well, there came a time where I wanted to wear something out of that box, so I picked it out and I took it upstairs. The next morning after I got out of the shower I was going to get dressed and a bug was crawling all over one of the items I wanted to wear. So we put the box in the garage. We got some thicker bags and I put the items into the bag, but I really didn't see any bugs in the box. So I just don't know if it was an escapee from the bedroom or if it really did come from the box. I think that's the hardest part of this game is not knowing where certain bugs came from. The bedroom has been clear lately - no dead bugs and no live bugs, but we still have to be vigilant with the spray. We didn't get more spray and I sprayed the den, bathroom the library and the bedroom again. When Phil wakes up, I will vacuum the couch and everywhere else again. I think ...

march 14th 2025, official retirement day, new message video coming soon

Today marks officially the day that Phil will be retiring from Lenovo where he has worked for the past 44 years. More specifically the past few years he's worked for Stoneware. Last night I was able to give a message at church and so I will be sharing that with you on YouTube very soon. It will be posted to my Tamara Chaos YouTube channel, and my Faith Forward-A Podcast For Encouragement and Faith channel. I think this one turned out very good and I am so thankful to God for giving me the message. Today is Friday. It should be a pretty normal day, we do not have any events tonight so I should be able to just work normally. Phil has a lunch meeting with his co-workers as a periodic get together over the internet. It'll be interesting to see what the future holds since he's retiring.

march 12th, 2025

I got my lessons ready for the Bible study I'll be leading on Feb. 21st. It's really cool. We're going to be talking about allowing God to show us what plans he has for our lives and allowing him to transform our lives. Pretty soon I'll vacuum. I can't vacuum the bedroom for two weeks, but I can vacuum everywhere else. We are in the process of organizing as well. I have plans to use my hope chest and plastic boxes to organize my cables and props since I'll be donating my dresser in my office to Phil. We will get rid of his big one. That is going to help the bedroom look much more classy.

march 11, 2025

It's Tuesday. It looks like it's going to be pretty day today. I think work should be normal.

the tap march 10th 2025

Now that I have figured out the exact format of Taps, I'm going to try something else. I'm going to use the comment section to post updates. In fact, that gives me an idea. I might start a post about a certain subject, and I'll post in the comment section updates to that, instead of using tags? I am not sure. I'll try it a couple of times and see. It's just so fun to have a blog where I have so much freedom, especially since I have zero audience right now. Learn in secret so you can shine in public. People are too busy to read which is why audiobooks are taking off like wildfire.  Today, I plan to continue with my schoolwork. I might try to study when I'm on my lunch break. I get to exercise this morning. I'm so excited. I will continue to listen to the audiobook we're studying in Bible study, in which I will be leading on the 21st. We are going to a play on the 16th. I have an eye appointment the 17th. Haircut on the 18th. Massage on the 28th.  I will ...

started the mountains of laundry

I've started going through the bags we put in the garage and started washing them. I think it won't be long until we can put the encasement on the mattress and box spring. Usually, it's advised to wait 6-8 weeks, but it just seems like we won't have to wait that long.

eye irritation, no social media, no making movies, bedbugs update

I woke up this morning with one of my eye lids swollen and red. It's not too bad, but thinking about getting some cleansing pads from Target. I know Phil has eye drops, so I might try that first. I'm sure it's just from a combination of dust and chemicals from home and work. Life is soo difficult right now, but we will get through it.  Did you know you can get these messages straight to your inbox? Just sign up by subscribing or comment below that you would like it delivered to your inbox.  Tonight I'm teaching Bible study. We are going to be talking about hearing the voice of God.  This weekend, I have to make sure I get caught up on school work as much as possible.  I also need to get dryer balls from Target, mine are not effective anymore. I bought a new vacuum cleaner. It is working really well. I will vacuum the bedroom again today and the hallway. I need to get better. The whole purpose of giving up making movies and social media was to clean, I didn't know it...

bedbugs

Last Saturday we found out we had bedbugs. We've been in the process of eliminating them. We believe we have the problem contained, but still taking precautions. This morning I plan to vacuum in the room again and the mattress again and the box spring again. I also plan to put away my towels so that I can use the basket for my clothes.  We first started putting baking soda all around because that kills them. Then we went to Lowe's and got some spray and powder and sticky things that are designed to kill them. So I have to be vacuumed and take care of them then we started putting the powder all over. Then we just continue to monitor and back in spray the aerosol all around. We've also removed everything except the bed, but we did take the bed apart. So after we feel like the problem is completely contained, we will take the zippered encasement bags and put the box spring and mattress in the encasement bags. The encasement bags are designed to contain the bed bugs in case the...

caught up on the writing class

I had plans today to get caught up on the writing class that I fell behind on. I didn't know if I could but I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get caught up. It's been really interesting so far learning what goes into making a story. One thing that goes into a story is passion, and that is definitely something I have. When I get an idea in my head, I'm pretty dedicated even if it takes years and tons of failure before I feel like I'm learning well.

happy valentine's day

Phil and I didn't have a whole lot of plans for this evening but we did get a massage and now we're going to get Chinese food to eat at home. I think tonight will be a nice relaxing evening. This weekend I am hoping to continue to get the website completed and more tapes transferred, plus I really need to get caught up on my class. But I do want to make sure that I have some rest time in between that as well. The podcast that I'm working on called trapped in darkness is going to have to be on the back burner for just a bit. The website really needs to get done before Tuesday when we have our board meeting. The tapes are not too much of a rush because he gave me until March to get it done, but I will keep working on it as much as possible. Phil did get me some really cute things and useful things for Valentine's Day. I didn't really get him anything but I did send him an e-card and made waffles this morning. It's hard to think of what to get a guy for Valentine...

progress on the website and transferring tapes

I have made a ton of progress, I think, on the website for Windsong Pictures. I have a lot of icons linked to the social media sites, and eliminated the items we do not require.  I just love this new transferring software I have. It makes transferring tapes so easy. It is so easy that I can use my movie editing software to remove black backgrounds and burn to DVD.  Now, I must get my lunch packed and get ready to go to work. I need to work early today so I can get done early. I have a ton of videos ready to be posted on YouTube showcasing the Monster Truck and Motocross shows we attended.  I am still on my social media fast. This is the best social media site, in my opinion. I can customize everything the way I want, with some limitations of course, but way more than any other social media site can offer and I don't have to worry about running into unclean content creators. I can make a playlist of my content to make it easy to find a post. I will only post my video...

website design, writing class, trapped in darkness, transferring tapes

It's about to get crazy here. We are in the process of making a website for Windsong Pictures. We are using Wix. I signed up for a writing class and that started yesterday, but I could not get on it yet. So I plan to get on it this morning. I also need to get on my class because I wasn't able to get on yesterday. I also need to continue transferring tapes for Jeffrey. We had an ice storm last night so the driveway and sidewalk are full of ice and snow. I'll have to see if I can get out and get to work or not-I've been checking the Light House Coffee Bar and see if it's open. Then I'll know how the roads are since the owner lives out of town.  There's a website called buymeacoffee.com and so I looked into it and created an account, but then I deleted my account when I found out that they only use Stripe. I don't know what is happening with PayPal that it seems like more and more people are not using it. I don't really want to use Stripe because I'...

cleaning for christmas day

Since I was not only busy with work and other things lately, but also sick, I am way behind on cleaning. So I've been cleaning today, Christmas Eve Day. I mopped some of the floors, cleaned off the table and placed our lovely special Christmas dishes.  I posted the long video of the Christmas story that we wrote called The Christmas Guest and I also posted a short. The short is called How to break the ice with a Stranger. We have so many other things lined up. We're still working on the movie, A Passion for Jesus. Hopefully today or at least very soon we can record the one scene we need for that, and then I can start putting it together. I would really like to do it these two days that we're off, but I guess we'll have to see. Then I also have an audio story that I want us to do called Trapped in Darkness, which will be shining out light on what a lot of women go through when they are desperate for someone to love them, they sometimes put themselves in situations where ...

instagram problems

I ran into an issue on Instagram. I've been having problems uploading to my Tamara Chaos account. I am so sick of social media giving me problems. If they don't want me to upload a lot of AI pictures then they should state that somewhere. So I deleted the AI pictures and clear up my cache and rebooted my phone and so after a while I will see it if that helped. I need to take a break and not post for a while and that way it should reset. Sometimes I like social media, but sometimes these apps are just ridiculous. I might try to go back to the old days. I can't even type on these stupid phones because I tried to use the wipe and it just doesn't do it and I think it's because I want to be quick and so I have to be slow if I'm going to use swipe or something else. So I'm using voice to text. I'm sitting here on the couch because I have a cold. It's just a small cold so I assume it will clear up pretty good soon. It's the same if I try to write with a...

happy thursday

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I posted. I've been a little busy with the other social medias that I know you all know I do not like, but they are a necessary evil I guess. At least I can turn the evil into good by posting scriptures and whatnot.. Maybe now I can take a little break and just focus on my blog. It is 8:16 a.m. on December 12th, 2024. I'm waiting a bit then I will I drink my tea and then I will go up and finish editing my latest podcast. Sometimes I watch people on YouTube make videos that are like a TV show and I wish I could do that, but I guess I need to focus on what I can do. I have done things similar to that though so I can be thankful and proud of that. I guess right now I'm more focused on doing ministry videos and delivering messages like a minister. Hopefully I can keep fine tuning that. I think one thing that is hard is that you know we get the lights all set up and everything looks great and then we have to take the lights away and pu...

a simplified social life

There are times where I go through and delete or deactivate pages or whatnot from FB to simplify my online presence, but then I get an idea about something and I start new things. I have done, that, but, now have gone back to simple.  I am now Minister Elizabeth, as my professional presence, and the other is still Tamara Chaos, for fun and whatnot. I do believe that the time is right for this. And since I have eliminated the others, it should not get too overwhelming.  When I record my new podcast, I will post short clips to my Minister Elizabeth Instagram account.  Overall, yes, I still hate social media, but with the increasing availability of Ai and the more my passwords work, then that is when I do like it.  I do wonder though, what my life would be like if I did not have social media. I could try a vacation from it, since I really will only be posting Bible stuff now. You know, like on my Tamara Chaos page, no one really interacts with the Bible stuff, but...

missouri and minnesota trip

Nov. 21st through Dec. 2nd, we took a trip to Missouri and Minnesota. Missouri to visit Phil's daughter and Minnesota to visit my parents. We had a very nice time.  My dad's church, Moravian, celebrated 150 years and so they had a lovely service with many participants and dinner after, however, Phil and I met up with friends in Rochester for dinner. We met at Pasquale's Pizza place. My mom's church, Methodist, had a lovely Christmas themed service. I posted pictures and videos on YouTube and Instagram.  Berea Moravian Church celebrates 150 years of service I did start a new YouTube channel, and so I might start a new blog as well. I'll set it up on the computer because it's easier. To keep me from getting overwhelmed, I'll probably stop posting to other sites and just let them fester, unless I suddenly get an opportunity and want to post there. That reminds me that I wanted to delete my Avakin Life Fashion Contests blog. The name of the new YouTube channel i...
