Decluttering Can Lead To Feelings Of Freedom
For the past two weeks or so, I have been in the process of decluttering the undesirable items in my house. There are things that were needed at the time, but now no longer have a purpose.
One time I was sitting in my office and I was thinking to myself, do I have stuff in here that I do not need? What do I have in here that I do not really need ? I have found my peak interests are crocheting, coloring, drawing and video producing.
So all the other things, like children's toys (we have no kids together,) some clothes, baby clothes, and the like, really have no purpose in this household. I was saving some of the toys, because, sometimes friends ask me to babysit their kids, but their situations have changed and that is no longer a need, not to mention the fact that I don't think the kids I have babysat even like my toys (or maybe they just don't like hardwood floors.) I don't know what kid doesn't like Paw Patrol toys, but who knows. I guess maybe they are not different from home, I don't know anyway, I do not need toys. If I ever babysit again, it might be at their house. Most of our musical items are in the living room, so, that might entertain them, otherwise they can bring their own toys from home.
I think the other items we have are normal for music people like us to have. We have instruments, and we love them, so, they are staying.
I started an exchange group on Nextdoor. If the items do not go by the time I am sick of looking at them, I am donating them. The next items I have planned to post are holiday decorating items a Frozen Elsa costume, and snowpants. I am just not into decorating much. I do like to decorate for Christmas, so, I will be doing that, but not so much the other holidays. However, I do love to get holiday paper napkins, maybe plates and I have holiday placemats.
Have you ever done a decluttering process? I would love to read about it.
