A Passion for Jesus -The Captain of Your Boat

There can be times when it's very difficult in your boat because of what you're going through. You could be going through a rocky storm, or maybe just a small storm or maybe no storm at all, but just coasting along. Maybe no direction, no compass, no strength, no hope. But I'm inviting you to invite Jesus into your boat. Jesus will give the command if you only let him.

He will steer your ship, your boat, your canoe, whatever kind of sailing vehicle you're in. If you try to do it on your own, you might be successful, but you might also be exhausted and ego-driven. Being spiritual always has to start with God's grace. Friends, we can't do it alone. We have to be careful who we let into our boat. We have to be wary of anyone who can jeopardize our relationship with God. We could end up being influenced and maybe even capsize the boat or fall out of the boat. We need Jesus to keep us grounded in the boat.

When Christ decides to get into your boat, the boat can be a symbol of your life, your personal life, your public life, your livelihood. Jesus decides I'm going to get into that boat and I'm going to start giving orders. After all, he's not our servant. We can't use God by saying, Oh yeah, Oh God is great as long as he serves my needs. Now, Jesus gets into the boat and starts commanding and maybe that's why Jesus is eventually kicked out sometimes. Look at Simon- he is an expert fisherman, he says look we've been fishing all night and haven't caught anything.

Well yeah, sometimes when we try to do things on our own, we catch nothing. As long as you are in charge of your life, you're making all the decisions. If Jesus takes over your life and starts commanding, you will be able to tread deep waters, instead of just playing in the shallows - this reminds me of the song called oceans. As long as you are in charge, you will never feel the freedom you can have when you let go and let God take over. Let God steer your boat. He will keep you in your boat even when the waters get rough, even when the storms are overwhelming. Let God be the captain of your boat. Peace, be still, will be your motto and you'll be better off. And God bless you. If you enjoyed this video I ask you to share this video and subscribe to my YouTube channel.
