So far we've really focused on practicing the songs that we have chosen to practice. 3 of them covers and one original.  Then we watched this video.  How to sing like a rock star Now we're watching Little Einsteins and I'm taking notes.  Be pianississmo, I'm hunting wabbits. 

Day 3-August 23rd, but I didn't get a chance to make a post about it.. We really focused on the note values. We had several exercises that we did to help us learn the note values. I made a few graphics to help me.  I'm really starting to comprehend how music works on a stave. 

The quarter note is equal to 2 eighth notes-half of one beat. Quarter note equals 4 1/16 notes Half note equals 8 1/8 notes Half note equals four quarter notes Half note equals 8/ 1/16 notes We spent a majority of 9 am and the noon hour studying notes. We not only did exercises , but 3 videos were chosen.  How To Read Notes Learn Basic Music Note Values The Metronome Then we had a break and we watched an episode of Andy Griffith where Barney was in the choir and Gomer got his solo. Then we had an intense singing practice session. We sang 1 song 3 times, another song 3 times and the last one once. Then we had a snack.  Now it's over for today. 

I've been learning a lot about music theory.  1. Rhythm and Tempo  2. Pitch 3. Timbre 4. Loudness 5. Melody  6. Chords and Chord Progressions 7. Texture  8. Form, Shape and Structure Here are a few notes I took.  I'm really curious about Rhythm and Tempo. They said rhythm refers to anything in music that has to do with time and duration. Every sound and every moment of silence in music must be heard for a specific amount of time, and that is part of rhythm.  All of it has to be played at a certain speed which is called tempo.
